Soloman Kane- Trailer and no release date

[reus name="Solomon Kane"]Robert E Howard is one of the few writers who has changed the way I think about writing.  Solomon Kane, one of his best creations, should be known by a broader audience.

When I saw the trailer (above), I screamed, "I have to see that!" (sigh)  Then the movie industry let me down again.

The film has NO release date!!!

It was exhibited in Canada at the Toronto Film Festival and in the USA at the Austin Fantastic Fest, and it will soon arrive in:

  • Spain     October 2009     (Sitges International Festival of Fantastic and Horror Cinema)
  • France     23 December 2009
  • Russia     31 December 2009
  • Netherlands     14 January 2010

The early reviews are good, but we might have to wait for the DVD to check this out.  We have waited a long time for a Solomon Kane movie... Looks like we have to wait a little bit more...

Solomon Kane Movie Poster

kaneI am not sure if this image excites or frightens me. I am a huge Solomon Kane, and I cannot fine anything in this image that I can critique or complain about at all, and I was so sure that there would be something. There almost always is when there films com out.

Solomon Kane is one of the many brilliant Characters created by the Pulp genius most famous for Conan the Cimmerian and Kull the Conqueror. Kane is a puritan witch hunter who travels the world ridding it of its vilest creatures.

The feature film directed by Michael J Bassett and staring James Purefoy as the pilgrim purifier. As with every film made these days, this is intended to be the first part of a trilogy of Solomon Kane films. The first film is intended to for release sometime in 2008.
