This Fridays Star Wars: Clone Wars Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Star Wars: The Clone Wars will feature the voice of George Takei in episode # 14 Defenders of Peace.  He will voice the villain Lok Durd.

George Takei gives us an idea of what Lok Durd looks like and remarks on the quality of the animation.

“Then when I saw the finished product I couldn’t help but realize it was amazingly well done. He’s just extremely flabby and loose he is. It made me wonder why I do all the sit ups, push ups and other exercises I really do when they think of that kind of character for my voice. I mean when Lok Durd moves, you can see his stomach, arms and legs, all his flesh, just jiggle. The animation is just amazing! Oh, the vanity of an actor!”

Chuck Finds Father and it’s Scott Bakula?

Scott Bakula is returning to TV as Chuck’s dad!  I’ve really love this show.  It’s like geek heaven, full of geek and speculative fiction references.  I’ve caught up on Hulu and now can’t wait for the next part of the season to start.  Bakula should appear in at least 3 episodes with his arc kicking off in April.

"Chuck made a promise to his sister, Ellie [Sarah Lancaster], that he was going to find their dad in time for her wedding," Schwartz explains. "And it's something that Chuck becomes consumed with pursuing during the second half of the season.

"But when he finds him, he's not necessarily a guy who wants to be found," Schwartz continues. "He's living in a trailer, he's disheveled, he's paranoid and he's claiming constantly that Ted Roark [Chevy Chase] -- who he used to work with -- stole all his ideas from him. And Ted Roark has now become this super-successful software billionaire, and Chuck's dad has become an eccentric, living in the shadows."

Did they just say that Chevy Chase will also make an appearance?  That would rock even more!

How to: Stream Star Trek: TOS

Star-Trek-CrewBack in February, I announced that CBS had added Star Trek: The Original Series to there collection of online streaming offering (see it here), but it remains one of my most asked questions. I suppose it is because I talk about Star Trek all the time on the podcast and blog, but since I last answered the question, the number of ways to watch Star Trek have grown.

  • CBS Online has the entire series (here)
  • Joost also has the entire series (here). I am partial to Joost and use it to watch a lot of TV including Star Trek. It requires a download, but the vast array of content available is worth it, not to mention the ability to make custom play lists. This is very handy for making your own marathons.

I found Joost to be more reliable than CBS when it comes to streaming. None of the other series or movies are availble for streaming at this time.

Don't buy the hype about the Adobe Media Player. I have seen numerous ads claiming that it has Star Trek... What it has are some lame corporate attempts to make YouTube videos using Star Trek clips. None are funny. Save yourself the time.
