Wolverine and Iron Man Anime Series Forthcoming

A Quick update on my post from yesterday:

Madhouse is currently in production on the first of four new series (12 x 30 minutes), which are scheduled to launch in spring 2010. The initial series will feature characters including Iron Man and Wolverine, among others, and Madhouse will ultimately look to adapt the entire Marvel Universe, creating in essence a whole new character base for Marvel (Anime News Network)

So we now know that these are actual series, 12 episodes 30 minutes each and that Iron Man and Wolverine are 2 of the 4 in production.  I hope Doc Strange is in the mix.  I can only imagine that Anime glory that would be.

Superheroes to Be Recast for Japan -

Marvel is teaming up with Madhouse, a renowned Japanese animation studio, to develop new versions of its characters for four anime series that will premiere in spring 2010 in Japan (NYTimes)

This is exciting and a little worrisome.  It is exciting because this is the same talent that gave us Vampire Hunter D and Paprika, but how those talents will translate into the Marvel universe is uncertain.

The success of Gotham Knight brought this partnership into being.  I am excited to see these flicks, but they are being made for the Japanese market and there is no word when or if they will be available in the States.  They have also not named the characters will turned into anime
