Tears for A Young Life

hatecrime190 I did not post when young Larry King's life was snuffed out by hate because I was too full of anger and hate at the causes of his murder, and I did not want to add more hate into the world. I have been blind for tears every time I pray because unholy words from a book that I hold as sacred played a part in the slaying of this young child. Hate is all we need to know of hell.

No matter what you believe about the nature of the universe, a demon, a devil is responsible for the killing of this boy, and I am not talking about other boy who pulled the trigger. I am talking about the demon that roams our psyche that says it is ok to mock, harass, harm, and kill gay people. This devil is a poison in our national blood stream and it must be banished if we are ever going to live up to our national creed, Justice for All.

Thanks to Ellen, I have found a way through my own hate, but I still have pity. I must find a way to make pity into compassion.

See Ellen's words here.

Christians and Lawmakers Against Adoption

C.E. Dorsett Hate is the Republican Party's plan for reelection of this year... a fear of families:

At least 16 states are considering whether gay men and lesbians are fit to be parents, USA Today reported Tuesday (Gay.com).

I am literally shaking as I write this. Gay Adoption is really a threat to this country? Children having loving families is a bad thing? The very thought does violence to the national soul. Do we really believe that Gay adoption will destroy the country?

Steps to pass laws or secure November ballot initiatives are underway in at least 16 states, adoption, gay rights and conservative groups say. Some — such as Ohio, Georgia and Kentucky — approved constitutional amendments in 2004 banning gay marriage (USA Today).

The Ohio adoption ban has already been defeated, but I have no idea for how long. A wild card in this whole debate is that the Missouri Policy against Gay Adoption was recently ruled without merit. And who could forget Janet Parshall comparing gay adoption to child abuse on Larry King Live.

There are about 520,000 children in foster care, according to the North American Council on Adoptable Children in St. Paul. Of those, 120,000 are available for adoption, but only 50,000 find permanent homes each year (USA Today).

The need for adoptive families in this country is great, and to bar an entire segment of the population from adopting for no reason is unconscionable. Find out if your state is planning to hurt our children by depriving them of parents, and study up on the facts from the National Adoption Information Clearinghouse on the subject (fact sheet here). We have to defend our children from this religious zealots who want to deprive those in need of a good home the family they so richly deserve.

Parshall Bigotry

Janet Parshall of the Fascist Religious program, Janet Parshall's America, I guess because the nation she describes on her show is one that only exists in her mind, was invited onto the most banal and inane hour of TV: Larry King Live (but not thinking). After coming frightfully close to justifying the murder of Matthew Shepherd

Was he, in fact, coming -- and this is no way, shape, or form, a justification of what happened because it was wrong, wrong, and wrong. Let there be no ambiguity there.

But, in reality, I understand that Matthew was somewhat of a person who hung around some of the gay bars and was coming on to some people. So, was he looking for trouble in all the wrong places (Media Matters)?

How could we get you wrong? You apparently think looking for a date could naturally lead to being savagely beaten and left to die. Why didn't he realize that two homophobic people would pick him up, rob, beat, murderer him? After all, he must have known that people like you, Pat Robertson, the Catholic and Baptist Churches... the Klan and numerous Republican politicians justify murder based on homophobia from being classified as the act of terrorism (hate crime) it it!

The she said this:

I think when two people of the same sex get together and they decide to use the moniker of a marriage, I think it's a grotesque misrepresentation, and actually, if that union decides that they want to then adopt children 'cause biology says they can't create children, then I think what you have in many respects is state-sanctioned child abuse because you've purposely taken away either a momma or a daddy, and mom and dad are both necessary in a child's life (Media Matters [emphasis added]).

Is the bitch crazy? I thought she had a screw loose when she put her fingers in her ears and refused to listen to Randi Rhodes on C-span, but the more I hear from this crazy lady the more I realize she is just a lunatic.

So, Janet, it child abuse to give a child two parents and not child abuse to deny them any parents? NAIC (National Adoption Information Clearinghouse) disagrees (Read their Fact Sheet Here). 'Nuff said.
