On May 18th the Joss Whedon episode of glee will premier.

Here are some ingredients to add to the mix for this episode:

  • Joss Whedon’s direction
  • Titled Dream On
  • Neil Patrick Harris playing Mr. Schuester’s former high school nemesis who causes trouble for the Glee club.

I hope that he is playing April Rhodes’ ex-boyfriend from high school who ran away with her in hopes of becoming big on Broadway.  This will allow Neil to play a more flamboyant character.  This would also explain why April makes a return this season.

  • Molly Shannon as wise-cracking Volleyball coach that loathes Sue Sylvester
  • Rachel struggles with a life-long personal issue
  • Artie’s dreams take him on an adventure

I can only imagine what to expect with a mix like this.  Whatever it is I do expect it to be awesome!

What do you think will happen?

What Would Neil Patrick Harris Do: Batman Musical

This is just great!  For all of us who wonder what Neil Patrick Harris would do in a musical Batman, he would play a villain named Musical Meister.  Listen to the video above to his song "Drives Us Bats".

I have no strong feelings one way or the other about Beyond Batman.  The look and feel of this incarnation of Batman has not stirred me enough to go through the hurdles to watch the show.  Coupling that with Cartoon Networks lack of respect for those decabled fans and I just don't care.

This position has changed slightly.  With Neil Patrick Harris in a musical episode I will have to watch this.

The full musical episode of Beyond Batman: The Brave and the Bold will premiere on Cartoon Network on October 23rd.

How to get a Dr. Horrible 2?

Doctor Horrible Banner

They have the way.  Dr. Horrible was a smashing success financially thanks to fan support showing that the “master plan” works.

They have the desire to do another show.  Neil Patrick Harris in a recent interview shared his views on doing another show.

"Oh, God, I wish I could say there was going to be a Dr. Horrible sequel, but I know there's so many people involved in the creation of it that have a lot of other stuff going on right now…  …Mainly, Joss [is doing] Dollhouse, and he has another movie, Cabin in the Woods, that he's doing at the same time. So I don't know that anything would happen soon. But everyone has been super-enthusiastic about it, and I think that means that hopefully something will come."

“I was vague on the how… you have shown me the light.”  Now we need to give them the will to do another Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog.

What we need to do!

Here is the new “Master Plan”:  we the fans need to continue to express our love of Dr. Horrible:

  • Support the Moist Comic
  • Get the DVD
  • Most importantly cry out to Joss Whedon for more.  At every opportunity, every conversation, and every signing let him know we want more and maybe, just maybe, we could get “…a brand new day”.

Dr Horrible’s Master Plan

I love Neil Patrick Harris!  It is bordering on an addiction, but is a happy euphoric sort of way that I cannot get enough of his work of Joss Whedon's.  The two of them together is almost enough to make my head pop.  If you haven't seen it yet is will be up up on Dr until July 20th at midnight. The best part of it all is Joss' Master Plan.  The miniseries will be up on Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Acts 1, 2 & 3 for $3.99, and later on DVD.  Joss hopes that the series will make enough to pay for itself and more.  It is a risk, but one that needed to be made.

I can only hope that there are enough people out there who are willing to support a quality show rather than pirate copies.  While there will always be a certain number of people who will take the content and not support its creation.  Then there are the others that have been trained by the industry to steal because the content was not available through other means.  Those that remain are the few that are willing to support the things they love.

If you want to see more of this kind of content and see what other things Joss can do without the studio limiting him, then show your love.

"Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" with Neil Patrick Harris

Joss Whedon has announced a new project with Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion:

It's the story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he's too shy to talk to. And I'm having the time of my life.

O did I mention that is is a musical? Three 10-minute episodes from the writer of "Once More with Feeling." I cannot wait to see it, maybe this is the beginning of a new set of projects from Joss.
