Trivium set up a site where you can download live recordings of their concerts at  Each concert sells for $10.

Great idea!  I am not sure about the price though.  If they sold them for $5 more people would snap them up.  I am curious to see how this works.

Would you buy live recordings of your favorite band?  I know I have.

Type O Negative Preorder! Hard, deep, and slow remastered

Hard, Deep, and Slow by Type O NegativeRoadrunner Records is releasing a remastered edition of Hard, deep, and Slow, the classic doom metal debut from Type O Negative. "Unsuccessfully coping with the natural beauty of infidelity" and "Gravitational constant G = 6.67 x 10-8 cm-3 gm-1 sec-2" are two of the best songs the band ever recorder, and their cover of Hey Joe, ahem, Hey Pete is well worth having.  I head them perform it live, and you were almost sure Pete was going to come off the stage after you.

Track Listing:

  1. unsuccessfully coping with the natural beauty of infidelity (12:39)
  2. der untermensch (8:54)
  3. xero tolerance (7:45)
  4. prelude to agony (12:14)
  5. glass walls of limbo (dance mix) (6:14)
  6. the misinterpretation of silence and its disastrous consequences (1:04)
  7. gravitational constant G = 6.67 x 10-8 cm-3 gm-1 sec-2 (9:14)
  8. hey pete (pete's ego trip version) (5:19)

  • Cyclopsget your copy of cyclops here and help support the project OMG this is here because I can’t resist the temptation to rent it: A cyclops and bad roman references, and look at the cover image, what more do you need!  Read the description and tell me can you resist the temptation to watch this flick.  When a cyclops terrorizes the ancient Roman countryside, treacherous emperor Tiberius sends his best general, Marcus, to capture the creature and bring it back to Rome to appear in the gladiatorial games. But when Tiberius also banishes Marcus to the games, the soldier teams up with the cylcops to overthrow the wretched ruler. It may be bad, It may be good, It could even be craptastic!  I will have to find out.
  • Haunting of Molly Hartley:  This thriller failed to interest me when out in the theaters and did not even make it to my rental list I put out the challenge to debate me on the good qualities of this movie and I received silence.  Last chance: if you have seen this and it is good let me know why I should watch it?
  • The Lair : Season 2:  A spin off of the smash hit Dante’s Cove, the Lair is a secret club for the vampire’s of the cove where they can explore their darkest and most erotic desires.   Season two picks up where one left off with many unanswered questions about the secret club, the future of its members, a mysterious plant and a deadly werewolf terrorizing local residents.  This series is a steamy gay-themed vampire series.
  • The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice:  I’m curious about this series.  I haven’t seen any of the movies yet but this is a renter mainly because it has vampires, what can I say I’m a sucker for vampire flicks.  If you have seen this let me know what you thought.  Librarian Flynn Carsen must rescue a kidnapped scholar and track down the legendary Judas Chalice to save the world from a dangerous vampire, in the third installment of this popular adventure film series. Carsen teams up with a mysterious woman and sets out for New Orleans, hoping to find the powerful chalice before it falls into the hands of a cult that believes it can revive the infamous Vlad Dracul.

Leaves’ Eyes Double Live DVD and CD Details

Leaves’ Eyes is my favorite Beauty and the Beast band, and the fact their two last albums, Vinland Saga and Legend Land tell the story of the Viking discovery of the new world, its perils, fights, and rewards.

This preview of the concert movie made me jump up and down in my seat.  Eventually, it will be released as a Double DVD and a Double CD after it has completed its theatrical run.  I cannot wait to get a copy.

Divining Personality from Musical Taste

Have you ever wondered if the streotypes associated with various genres of music were true?  Professor Adrian North from Heriot-Watt University corolated data from 36,000 people and founs that I, as a metal fan am/have:

Low self-esteem, creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle, at ease (BBC NEWS)

Well, how did they do?

  • Low self-esteem- yep, that is me.
  • creative- i do have 2 books out.
  • not hard-working- wait, what?  I work 12 - 16 hours a day, and I pour my heart and soul into it, and o, hell, this sentence is just too long you can figure out the rest.
  • not outgoing- I am a bit of a wallflower.  I am very shy.
  • gentle- ok, i can see that one.
  • at ease- laid back hippy, yep that's me

Ok, they got lucky.  They list quite a few other musical genres, and I am curious whether they feel right to you.  I am glad they did not resort to simple stereotypes.  How predictive is it for you?

Celebrate Maggot! Slipknot IS Number One

Masked heavy metal band Slipknot have scored their first US number one album - but only after a recount put them ahead of rapper The Game's long-player (BBC NEWS)

Well, then, I do not feel so bad for not running out right away and snagging the new album.  I am still going to pick it up next week, but there is a glorious thing to see the masked mad men of Slipknot at the top of the charts.
